Spring is definitely my favourite season in London, the blossom trees, pretty streets and warm weather where you can finally wear a cute outfit and actually have it on show not hidden behind a massive coat, scarves, woolly hats - the works! But it’s not too hot where you can’t still show off those beautiful coats you have, just throw the coat over the shoulders and your look is complete.
I’ve never been super girly with my outfits; I always find that a comfy casual outfit can be spruced up with a pair of heels and accessories if needed. I’m slowly breaking away from my comfort blanket clothing… black, so I ventures out and realised that blue is by far my favourite colour to wear when I pluck up the courage to step away from blacks, greys and nudes. I love the fact that blue comes in an array of shades, from sky blue to teals so I don’t always feel so samey, therefore your outfit can go from a causal walk picking up milk to picking up mojitos on a night out.
If you struggle with finding the perfect colour to suit your mood, features and figure, like I have done in the past, its best to just not mix too many colours and shapes to start with, ease your way in just like anything you do for the first time. I’m a brunette with brown eyes and olive skin with a half curvy physique, yes half because although my booty’s there... my pancake breasts are not *sigh*. Just like certain eyeshadows won’t compliment my facial features, it’s the same thing with clothes, you have to find what works for you, what compliments your figure and what compliments your skin tone. I have recently, VERY recently grown to love wearing colour, for so long I stuck to black, and although it will always be my go to outfit colour palette I now have seen the light and recognised that colours can also look just as good as an LBD.
Spring is the perfect time to start experimenting with different colours and I think I have a new found comfort with blues, both for my state of mind and a great way to input some happiness into my day because although black clothes are bad AF, the funeral look can chill for a minute.
This outfit is perfect for spring through to summer and silk shirt and levis shorts will be my new signature spring look. Well.. for now.
