We’re currently in the middle of a makeup trend I refer to as ‘contour purgatory’, defined by heavy-handed makeup applications, which is a make-up technique used and has originated by drag queens who absolutely slay the technique, however as of the past year or so it has been globally manufactured by vloggers and celebrities who tell us more is better. Too often, women are doing it wrong — and it looks like spackle gone awry.
Although this technique can be nailed to perfection and your face can look like you’ve been licked by unicorns, it’s nice to be able to switch your look up and tone it down for a more relaxed and less dramatic effect.
One of my new favourite make up products is my Charlotte Tilbury “The Golden Goddess” luxury eye shadow palette, it has beautiful warm golden and brown tones that really compliment my eyes and give me that Cali girl look that I’ve always admired. for my face I used Mac studio fix fluid NW20, which can look quite cakey when applied like most of macs products but if you have primer or face cream, I used the Charlotte Tilbury wonderglow face primer, then it will blend in perfectly almost forming a tinted moisturiser effect. For my lashes I used the Diorshow iconic overcurl mascara, the instant anti age eraser eye concealer by maybelline shade 'light', this is one of my favourite concealers ever!! I'ts soo light and smooth on the skin. For the brows i used the brow artist shaper by L'Oreal shade 03 brunette and then finished my look off with a Bobbi Brown bronzing powder in the Medium and lips are a mixture of KoKo K by Kylie Jenner and taupe by Mac. So a few products were used but all in moderation in order to create a subtle everyday look.
